About our Music Department
From the time of John and Charles Wesley, music has been a vital and distinctive component of our worship of God. From our very beginning we have been a "singing people." This is the importance we assign to music ministry still today. At Moody United Methodist, we are still a "singing people." Much care is taken in the development of our music program. We are a fast growing ministry within the church where groups, ensembles and individual talent is constantly being developed. We currently have several choirs including Adult and Children. We are in the development stage of bell choirs with plans to add other groups in the near future. If you would like to participate in or volunteer to help with any of our groups, the donation of your time and talent will be most appreciated.
At the core of our music ministry is a committed staff that works to provide the congregation with hymns, (traditional & comtemporary) instrumental and other music that seeks to glorify our God in a variety of ways and through a variety of media. We believe that in the words of John Wesley, we should sing spiritually. That we should have an eye to God in every word we sing and aim at pleasing him more than ourselves. We in the music department offer our hearts continually to God in our music. We invite you to join with us as we sing to the GLORY OF GOD!
